COVID-19 among American Indians and Alaska Natives in the United States: An early look

چکیده

To date the US has experienced greatest number of cases and deaths due to COVID-19 in world, but impact been even greater for American Indians Alaska Natives (AIAN). Despite numerous disadvantages related poor socioeconomic status preexisting health conditions, Tribal sovereignty, community strength resiliency have important factors limiting burden disease on Indigenous Americans. AIAN Tribes repeatedly chosen protect lives over income, choosing close businesses that are economic lifeblood reservations.
